One of our NeedleSmart ambassadors Clinton Jones consultants anaesthetist  has travelled to India to to  operate ,help and support a children’s charity called NCF which is a charity that operates and helps children with Cleft palate.

Clint is married with 2 children  and he feels very privileged to be part of an organisation that is committed to making a difference to a child’s life and this will be his second trip back to India with the NCF for the 2018 Outreach his first trip was in 2016 when over 100 operations were completed.

A significant number of children in India are born with a cleft and palate,deformity and to poor to access medical help, many are left unable to eat or speak properly from this comes a social isolation and stigma.

The psychological and social implications of being born with a cleft lip and palate can not be underestimated.

The foundation offers free corrective surgery that transforms children lives.

The NCF delivers surgical care to the same standards as the NHS and to date has given over 1,500 children a smile!

This really is life changing work!
